Dr Daniel Bills
Daniel Graduated from The Sydney University school of medicine in 2001, following the completion of a first class honors science degree at Monash University in Melbourne. He received his fellowship in general surgery in 2008, going on to complete a colorectal fellowship in minimally invasive colon and rectal surgery at the John Flynn Hospital in 2010.
Daniel has held numerous academic posts with Bond, Griffith and Monash Universities and is a current foundation member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Academy of Surgical Educators. He has presented at a number of local and international scientific meetings with particular interest in the management of complicated diverticular disease. Dr Bills also has interests in minimally invasive colorectal surgery with an emphasis on enhanced recovery protocols following surgery, and minimally invasive hernia surgery.
To compliment his surgical practice Daniel also provides endoscopic services. He offers consultations in both Lismore and Ballina and whilst having trained as a subspecialist colorectal surgeon Dan's practice involves a broad spectrum of general surgical practice.
Daniel has been working in Lismore since January 2011 when he commenced work as a locum VMO General Surgeon, he was given a permanent VMO appointment by the Northern NSW Local Health District in April 2012 and is accredited at St Vincent's Private Hospital in Lismore.
